All you need to know about CBD tea

Tea is one of the most popular beverages of all time. And CBD is fast becoming one of the most popular health products of today. So, why not combine the two? CBD tea is a thing, and it’s quickly gaining followers. Here’s why it’s being served up!

What is CBD tea?

CBD tea isn’t your average cup of tea. It’s a tea that contains an active component of cannabidiol (CBD) extract. CBD  is one of the main compounds present in the cannabis plant. It’s a safe, non-addictive substance that harbors a huge range of therapeutic benefits for the body and mind. Many of these benefits have been confirmed by both scientists and CBD users around the world. 

CBD is made up of more than a hundred “phytocannabinoids,” which are similar to the cannabinoids our own bodies produce. Our own endocannabinoid system (ECS) plays an important role in regulating many of the processes that keep the body functioning every day: blood pressure, mood, energy production, immune function, glucose metabolism, appetite, pain management, and more.

CBD tea is made by infusing the full-spectrum hemp oil extracted from the cannabis plant into a loose leaf tea. This healthy beverage has been known to provide fantastic benefits to users. It’s also possible to add CBD when you brew a tea that you already have.

How to make CBD tea

There are a few ways to make CBD hemp tea:

  • Using the hemp plant to brew the tea before activating the phytocannabinoids yourself
  • Adding CBD oil to tea
  • Using CBD tea bags

Please note that using hemp leaves isn’t a good idea because the hemp leaves must first undergo a decarboxylation process. If this isn’t done properly, you may end up diluting the potency of the CBD.

To choose the right CBD product for your tea, look for an organic CBD oil. Your best option is a full-spectrum CBD oil that contains all its natural cannabinoids and terpenes. This will produce the entourage effect. It’s also a good idea to choose an unflavored  CBD oil so it won’t affect the taste of your tea!  

Here’s a quick guide to brewing CBD tea:


  • 1 cup distilled water
  • Loose tea leaves of your choice
  • CBD tincture


  1. Pour the distilled water into a pot and place it on the stove to boil.
  2. When water is nearly boiling, add tea leaves to the pot and cover.
  3. Steep for around five minutes.
  4. Remove pot from heat, strain out the tea leaves, and allow to cool for a few minutes. Cooling is important as high temperatures can destroy the potency of the CBD.
  5. Add the CBD tincture and stir.

Allow a few minutes before serving. Enjoy!
